TomGEM off to Argentina

The 2nd Latin American Metabolic Profiling Symposium was held in Rosario (Argentina) at the Bolsa de Comercio de Rosario Convention Center on October 10-12, 2016.

Alejandro Vila, President of the Organising Committee and Director of the Institute of Molecular Biology and Cellular Biology from Rosario (IBR), welcomed researchers from Latin America to share their experiences, success stories and challenges in the metabolic profiling arena. This year’s symposium addressed clinical and agricultural applications of metabolomics as well as recent technical advances in this field. Participants were invited to join in discussions across the whole field of Metabolomics in Health and Plants.

TomGEM was represented by project partner Fernando Carrari (Universidad de Buenos Aires, UBA) as invited speaker to the applications of Metabolomics in Plants. He gave a presentation on "Metabolic profiles as tools in new breeding technologies for crop species" and introduced the TomGEM project to the scientific community gathered at the Symposium.
