TomGEM again represented at the FRUIT LOGISTICA in Berlin

Following last year’s success, TomGEM will again be represented at the FRUIT LOGISTICA taking place in February 2018 in the German capital Berlin.

FRUIT LOGISTICA invites 3.077 exhibitors and 76.000 visitors every year to realise their full business potential within the international fresh produce trade. The trade fair covers all sectors of the fresh produce business and provides a complete picture of the latest innovations, products and services at every link in the international supply chain.

From February 7-9, 2018 companies from across the entire fresh produce sector - from global players to small and medium-sized companies and organisations from all over the world - will again be present in Berlin at the FRUIT LOGISTICA.

The TomGEM partner Alma Seges from Italy will present its products in exhibition hall 4.2 at stand A02, focusing on sustainability, the use of local products, minimizing the use of non-renewable raw materials, the reduction of waste, for example by eliminating secondary transport packaging and the use of products with low environmental impact such as eco-friendly colors and fabrics.

Within TomGEM, Alma Seges conducts field trials in different areas of Southern Italy in order to evaluate germplasm collections grown at high temperature. They also test different management practices to select those that contribute to the improvement of yield performance.

Additionally, Prof. Luigi Frusciante of the University of Naples will attend a roundtable and discuss the topic of climate change and its impact on crops and agriculture, outlining possible and novel strategies to maintain fruit quality and production.
