Ibérico 2017: VIII Iberian Congress of Horticultural Sciences

From 7-10 June 2017, the Portuguese Horticultural Association (APH) and the Spanish Society of Horticultural Sciences (SECH) organize the VIII Iberian Congress of Horticultural Sciences in Coimbra, Portugal.

Every four years, the congress brings together experts from the Portuguese-Spanish scientific and technical community that specialise in horticulture. The diverse topics covered at the Ibérico 2017 make it the widest discussion forum for horticultural sciences in the Iberian Peninsula.

On June 09, TomGEM partner Carlos Baixauli from the Cajamar Foundation (FCValenciana) will lead the plenary session “A organizacão da producão hortícola e os desafíos do conhecimento es dos mercado”. The session will address the importance of research and innovation in horticultural production when it comes to improving cultivation methods and implementing new varieties at the market. This is illustrated by a presentation of the objectives and activities of the TomGEM project which mark a trend in identifying new tomato varieties resistant to high temperature conditions.
